Participate in a Study: Transition to Legal Drinking

This study is investigating alcohol use and problems over the transition to legal drinking age (i.e., age 21). Individuals that are soon to turn 21 years old, are living in mid-Missouri, and are regular drinkers are welcome to apply to participate.

What will happen if you participate in this study?

This study will take place over the span of a year. Participation in this study is broken up into two parts; 1) Three to four in-lab sessions (a session before you turn 21 in which no alcohol is consumed and two sessions in which you will consume alcohol scheduled after you turn 21); and 2) two online follow-up questionnaires sent via email four months and ten months after your 21st birthday. Participants must be at least 20 years and 10 months old, but must still be under 21 years old at the time of their first in-lab session. Participants will be compensated up to $640 in gift cards to Amazon.com for completion of all aspects of the study.
